‘Mofo baolina’ in Malagasy language or ‘ball bread’ (literally translated in English) is one of Malagasy snacks. It’s quite a simple recipe especially for someone like me who is not very good at cooking or baking.😁

What You Need:

  • 250g flour
  • 2tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 9tbsp milk
  • 75g sugar or less depending on your taste

How to prepare it:

  1. Whisk the eggs and mix them with the sugar. Add the milk.
  2. Mix the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Then add them to the wet mixture (milk, eggs, and sugar).
  3. Let it rest for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. Heat the oil at medium heat. Scoop the paste with spoon and fry the ball.

💡 Often we eat ‘ball bread’ as breakfast with Malagasy tea or coffee.

💡 You can also add a bit of vanilla, or cinnamon, or a little bit of lemon zest to the mixture if you want to.
